Take That Deny X Factor Pull Out

Take That have denied that they're pulling out of an appearance on this Saturday's X Factor final. They insist that they were never scheduled to perform in the first place.

Earlier reports in The Sun had suggested that the group had refused to appear after discovering that Boyzone would also be present. However, a spokesperson for Take That said that the band was "never confirmed" and "never scheduled" to appear. The representative told Gigwise that, as part of a pre-arranged promotional tour, the group will be in Europe this weekend. An X Factor spokesperson said: "There is no truth to the reports today. We would absolutely love to have Take That back on the show, but we have always been aware that the band have other commitments in Italy that night so have never been available to perform in the final."

The star-studded line-up will include performances from Beyoncé, Duffy and Seal. After weeks of tears, tantrums and shock decisions, the final three acts of X Factor 2008 will battle it out to be crowned winner. The smart money's on Alexandra Burke but JLS (made up of Jonathan Gill, Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and Marvin Humes) and Eoghan Quigg could yet pull off a huge surprise. Take a look back at the performances that got them to the final by clicking through our gallery.
