Adam, You're Fired!

Adam Hosker, the eighth person fired from The Apprentice 2007, talks to MSN about rival candidate Katie Hopkins.

Who should have been fired instead of you?
To be honest, you can't really argue with Sir Alan for firing me considering how many times I'd been in the boardroom. He wasn't aware how much everybody was trying to set me up so, based on that, he probably should have sacked all three of us. I thought I made a massive contribution and I worked my backside off in every single task.

Do you think Sir Alan has lost some respect for Katie, following her personal attack of you in the boardroom?
He seems to like it when people fight. But what I was doing was fighting for my life whereas Katie was fighting against me. It was a very personal attack, she really wanted me gone. My mum wants to give her a right slap!

Katie made some very low blows – commenting on your accent, your drinking and your personality. Did it shock you?
No not at all. Katie's a two-faced manipulating cow. I was shocked that somebody could think that in this day and age, but it was entirely expected of her. One thing's for sure – she can't go shopping in Manchester after what she said about me and my Northern chums.

Would Katie make a good boss if Sir Alan hired her?
No chance. I actually don't think she wants the job. I think she's there to push Brand Katie and I hope it backfires, I hope she gets nothing out of it.

Do you believe that Katie and Kristina deliberately set out to get you fired?
Can you believe they were in cahoots? I'd really liked Kristina and I just couldn't believe they were in cahoots and trying to sabotage me in that manner. I was really surprised at that.

Their refusal to drive to the seed importer that you found probably cost you the task.
Yes. They were actually told to buy the seeds first thing in the morning but they couldn't find any details about them. Meanwhile Ghazal and I went to Brick Lane and I bought a wetsuit for £40 that should have been £220, a pair of leather pants that should have been £110 for £45 and a car battery for £29, so in half an hour I got three of our five items. Katie and Kristina were struggling so we took the seeds back onto our list so they just binned them off. Eventually I found a place round the corner from the studio that sold the seeds and I even gave them directions to get there, but they said they ran out of time.

When you survived the previous week's sacking, why weren't the housemates happy to have you back?
It's one of two things – they were either shocked and amazed that someone could survive three boardrooms in a row, or they hated me. Perhaps there was some propaganda being spread by Katie, considering she is an ex Army Intelligence Officer!

Who should win the series and be hired by Sir Alan?
I think they should bring me back! Had I spoken to you before I'd seen the episode, I'd have said Kristina, but after she did what she did, I'm not quite as keen on her. It depends on what type of job Sir Alan has in mind – if it was something creative, Lohit would be fantastic.

Are you proud that you got so far - that seven people were fired before you?
I was so proud I got on the show in the first place, and I'm so proud of how far I got in the face of adversity. I couldn't have had any more people against me, could I? They had to literally gang up a bunch of them to get rid of me!

Do you regret taking part in The Apprentice?
Absolutely not and you know what? I want to have another go next year. I'm a relentless little s*** and I don't like losing so I need to go back and win a few tasks next year. I want to go racing cars!

What's next for you?
I'm looking for a job. I've left my old job and I think it would be a bad move to go back to what I did before after such great exposure – five and a half million people know who I am. I consider myself a business person and a sales person and that's what I'm good at, but I'm open to all sorts of offers.

Would you be interested in a career in television?
Originally I'd have said no but I really enjoyed doing the You're Fired show in front of the crowd, it felt really natural. So yeah I'd jump at it.

If you met Sir Alan now, what would you say?
You sod! Either that or 'can I have a different job?' I keep emailing him, he doesn't respond though! There are no hard feelings but I do send him an email every week asking for a job, so at least he knows I don't give up.
