Green Day to play New Year's gig

Green Day are set to perform a New Year's Eve concert in New York.
The punk-rock trio are slated to perform during NBC's New Year's Eve With Carson Daly, which will air live on US TV from Times Square.
Carson said he was "beyond excited" to have the Grammy winners as his guests.
Last year Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers performed at the event.
Green Day's latest CD 21st Century Breakdown has sold more than 800,000 copies.
