The glamour model and WAG, aged 25, said that while she was desperate to win the show, she was excited to be out of the jungle.
Her famous disputes with singer David Van Day lasted until the bitter end - Nicola embraced everyone else on leaving the camp but blanked the Dollar singer when he tried to give her a goodbye hug.
Talking to presenters Ant and Dec after her eviction, Nicola, who is engaged to footballer Tom Williams of Peterborough United, said she was "super excited" to get back into civilisation.
She said: "I was in it to win it without a shadow of doubt, but am I excited that I'm going to be seeing my fiance and my son - oh my God, yes! This is the toughest thing I've ever done."
McLean admitted that she found the bushtucker trials difficult, especially eating a crocodile eyeball - she has had a phobia of eyes since she was young.
She also said that she disliked fellow contestant David from the beginning.
She said: "As soon as he walked in I disliked him and I disliked Timmy (Mallett). I know I was harsh, but that's how I'd be on the outside world as well. I'm very black and white.
