Top Dancing On Ice Moments

When Dancing On Ice was first broadcast back in 2006, it marked the first time Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean had skated together in eight years. We look back at more show highlights.

Dancing On Ice hits our screens for its fourth series. We take a look at the previous shows that had the crowds talking.

The First To Fall

Andi Peters was never the most confident skater but he won an army of fans with his unique dancing. He famously took a tumble during the second show - marking him out as the first contestant to fall.

The Headbanger

Daredevil skater Bonnie Langford performed one of the show's most courageous moves with her partner Matt Evers. She perfected the Headbanger - a move which saw her swung round with her head only millimetres from the ice. She was determined to conquer the move and ended up practising in a helmet for safety.

The Put-downs

Jason Gardiner - the show's resident Mr Nasty - was always first to critique the stars. Among his famous put-downs include:

To Kelly Holmes in series one: "I think you have such an amazing physical body, it's so muscular and it's great, but because you dance so hard you almost run the risk of looking like a man in drag."

To Stefan Booth in series one: "It kind of reminded me of a geek at the office Christmas party."

To Kay Burley in series two: "I have to say Kay there's just no warmth in your presentation, you probably wouldn't exude any warmth if you were on fire."

Duncan Gets Flamboyant

2007's third place skater Duncan James got into the mood during disco week when he insisted the stylist curl his hair and spray it with glitter. He later admitted that he was astounded by the attention it caused.

Take That

In 2007, the lads became the first band to appear on the show, when they starred in an opening routine. The rink was specially treated in the run up to the show so it could hold Gary Barlow's grand piano.

The Shock Result

Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain spent most of series three as the bookies' favourite to win. But on final night, former Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw put in an amazing performance and snatched the prize from his grasp. She scored a flawless five sixes with the judges in two of her routines. No contestant on Dancing on Ice had ever received five sixes before.
From Zero To Hero

2007's winner Kyran Bracken showed the most improvement. His early rehearsals were spent falling over and his partner Melanie Lambert didn't think they would make it through the first round.

Battle Of The babes

Ulrika Jonsson and Kay Burley battled against one another to see who could stay in the competition the longest. A few weeks in, they both ended up in the bottom two - and the judges decided Kay should stay.

Hazardous Times

David Seaman and Pam O'Connor discovered how dangerous the ice can be when they decided to incorporate a cane into the routine. David dropped Pam, sending her crashing towards the ice and she cut her chin open. The pair were forced to sit out of that week's show.

The Daredevil

2007's runner-up Clare Buckfield wowed the crowds with her show-stopping moves with her partner Andre Lipanov, winning a host of high scores from the judges. One week she was thrown in the air by Andre and landed on her skates unaided. Having practised it in rehearsals, the crowds were delighted when she completed the move successfully in the show.
