Ray Quinn has won the fourth series of Dancing On Ice.

The singer and West End star - who was the bookies' favourite for the title - beat Donal McIntyre in the last part of the final show, after Jessica Taylor came third.

Ray, who had achieved perfect scores of 30 in his two rated dances in the final, exclaimed "yeah baby!" as he was given the winner's trophy.

Ray won the show based on the final dance - the bolero, famously danced by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on their way to Olympic glory - as the votes were reset once Jessica had made her exit.

Judge Robin Cousins told Ray after his final dance: "You capture the love story. It blows me away."

Shock finalist Donal also impressed the judging panel with his bolero but the investigative reporter said: "It doesn't really matter what the judges think, I was lost (in the dance)."

However it could well have been Ray's two perfect 30s which secured the title.

He astounded judges with his flying routine, even though earlier in the week he was given oxygen due to motion sickness while practising.

After flying to Greatest Day by Take That, he joked to the audience: "When I said I felt sick, you nearly had it!"

And Ray again impressed with his dance to Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now, with Robin describing his performance as "breathtaking".

Ray's victory came after a spirited performance from Donal, who was the most improved contestant of the series.

Judge Ruthie Henshall gave him a perfect score of six for his flying routine to Rocket Man, commenting: "I wasn't expecting you to be as graceful as you were. I am so grateful that Donal is no longer undercover!"

But the scores were mixed, and Jason Gardiner was jeered by the audience as he quipped: "For me it was less rocket man and more ricket man."

However Donal came back with his best score of the competition - 25.5 - as he danced to Everybody Hurts by REM.

He said: "This could be my last dance and I simply wanted to make my best dance."

But he went on to dance the bolero after a tearful Jessica received the fewest public votes.
