Jessica Taylor has missed out on the opportunity to skate the bolero after finishing third in the final of Dancing On Ice.

The former Liberty X singer was in tears as Phillip Schofield revealed that Ray Quinn and Donal McIntyre were the final two contestants in the competition.

"I really wanted to do it for my mum," sobbed Jessica. "I've loved every minute of it."

Her partner Pavel Aubrecht added it was a "shame" they wouldn't be dancing the bolero as they had enjoyed practising it in the run-up to the final.

Jessica had performed competently in the final show, though showed no threat to favourite Ray, who achieved two perfect scores with his two dances.

Jessica performed last for both dances. She skated to One Moment In Time in the flying routine, which judge Karen Barber said was "effortless". However she drew criticism from Jason Gardiner, who claimed her arms were stuff and her "leg line should have been higher".

Jason also criticised her for her second dance to Mercy by Duffy, claiming she "didn't go for it enough".

However Jessica replied: "I definitely went for it and I think everyone could see that."
