Liam leaves Big Brother

Liam has become the third place runner-up in this year's Big Brother, losing out to the twins and Brian.

The 23-year-old Geordie tree surgeon, who has already won the £100,000 prize money in one of the show's twists, left the house to wild screams after telling the others: "Congratulations, you've deserved it all along."

In his tearful exit interview, he told Davina being picked to win the prize money had been "a mixture of emotions".

He added: "I felt embarassed, I didn't feel like I deserved it."

The big softie said he would use the money to help "my dad, my brother and me mam, and everybody I care about".

And asked about what happened with halfway housemate Amy under the duvet he said: "There was no sexy time."

Liam said he had learnt that he's a bit insensitive, that you've got to put a positive spin on everything and that "people are nice".

Ladies' man Liam found himself £100,000 richer after only a few days in the house, when he was selected by Carole, Jonathan and Seany for the cash prize.

Jonathan explained to Liam why he had been picked, saying: "You're the truest, strongest, best man we've got. You're a proper, honest man. We all agreed in 10 seconds."

At one point the clear favourite to win Big Brother, he was almost able to win round man-hater Nicky before the pair started bickering.

Nicky confided in Tracey: "I like him, but I don't know if he thinks I'm serious, or if I'm joking."

His affection for the twins won him the title of "most lustful housemate", and he was made to wear a fetish suit as punishment.

A leather-clad Liam had a heart monitor attached to him, which was used to measure his fluctuating heart rate. To pass, he had to resist the advances of Big Brother and remain calm, with his heart rate having to stay below 40 per cent above his resting heart rate.

Upon returning from the Diary Room, a flushed Liam told his fellow housemates: "I sat down in a chair with all this lust stuff, a chair, flowers, a platter of aphrodisiacs, bananas and figs, chocolate truffles. I was sat there, then I got a dirty phone call off them, was told to tickle myself with a feather.

"Then there was this 0898 sexy number, which was like 'what are you wearing, what do you want me to do'."

The group, who were in hysterics by this point, asked whether Liam had passed the task. "I didn't get the horn," he joked.

The ordeal didn't stop the sex-mad contestant lusting after fake Australian housemate Pauline though.

And Liam won the Cunning Linguist task hands down - when he had to name as many words for "breasts" as he could.

"Baps, wangers, bazookas, Mount Everbreasts..." he reeled off.

The next newcomer to take Liam's fancy was glamour model Amy. She and Liam shared a couple of steamy moments, but days later loverboy Liam decided the romance was alienating him from the other housemates.

"I thought, 'Don't let it happen' but it's happened," he confided in the Diary Room.

"Amy's come in, I've spent some time with her and everyone has misconstrued it. I said to Amy, 'It's not what I want'. Everyone is reacting to me differently."

Even after the former Halfway Housemate's departure, Liam was no stranger to female attention, and found himself in a compromising situation when the twins cheekily removed his shorts during a late-night swimming session.

But it seems even his lusty ways couldn't win him that top spot.
