Ioan Gruffudd has revealed he practised his lines for his latest television role on his baby daughter Ella Betsi.

The Fantastic Four star can be heard narrating Igam Ogam, a new Welsh language show for pre-school children, from next week.

Ioan recorded his part via a link between Sound Works Studio in Cardiff and a studio near his home in Los Angeles.

And to help him prepare for his recording sessions, he read the scripts to Ella Betsi, to whom his Lost actress wife Alice Evans gave birth in September.

Iaon, 35, said he was delighted when Cardiff-based animation company Calon TV approached him to narrate the programme.

"They have a great record of producing high-quality animation for young children and I hope Ella Betsi will become a fan as soon as she's old enough," he said.

"She seemed to enjoy the scripts when I read them to her."

Igam Ogam, which follows the adventures of a curious pig-tailed cavegirl, premieres on S4C on Monday.
