Neighbours star Alan Fletcher has revealed he'd like a part in EastEnders - if the show's bosses would let him attempt a cockney accent.
The actor, who plays Dr Karl Kennedy, told how he would be keen to work in the UK if his role in the Aussie soap ever comes to an end.
He said: "If and when Neighbours finishes for me you'll probably see me here on these fair shores because I have the ability to work here and feel an enormous connection with English TV and theatre world."
He said he'd happily follow in the footsteps of fellow Neighbours legend Anne Charleston (Madge Bishop) by appearing on an English soap, saying: "There are some terrific shows here. Anne Charleston did Emmerdale for a while and she loved that experience."
Asked which soap he would choose, he said: "Probably EastEnders. I'd like to be in EastEnders if I could play a cockney. I'd have to try and pull off a genuine East London accent."
