Ex-Corrie star Tina O'Brien said she's happy to kiss a woman in her new TV role.

The actress, known to millions as Coronation Street's Sarah-Louise Platt (later Grimshaw), will venture into new territory as Miss Brown, the screen love interest of Maxine Peake in a period drama about famous lesbian Anne Lister.

Tina, 26, told New! magazine she feels "fine" about the prospect of puckering up to Maxine, adding: "I've not kissed a woman before, so it's something new."

She said her boyfriend Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw in Corrie, thinks Tina's new role is "great".

"He probably thinks it's a bonus it's not a guy I'll be kissing!" she added.

Tina is soon to start filming the BBC drama.
