Showbiz legend Bruce Forsyth is still going strong as the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing demonstrates. No knighthood yet, but there's still time for someone to right a major wrong.
Reports about his quitting Strictly seem to crop up every year: "It's a false rumour; I know because I always start my own," he famously told Jonathan Ross in 2008. "Sometimes I don't feel like working, but I walk out and feel 35."
In football, playing youngsters in the first team is sometimes justified with the adage: if they're good enough, they're old enough.
