TV's Most Annoying

Richard Arnold (Image © PA Photos)

TV is supposed to supply a constant stream of entertainment. Constant stream of aggravating people is more like it. On an average day, at least one TV personality will really annoy me.

I'll find said person as irritating as the following: cold callers, non-UK call centres, traffic wardens, loud mobile phone users, bigmouth teens on public transport, chain letters, ebay fraudsters. The list goes on. Want more? OK.

Automated call systems ('press 1, to pay a bill. Press 2, to enquire about your bill. Press 3 to set up a direct debit. Press 4 to …'), copious use of office-speak ("Just giving you a heads up"), junk mail, being put on hold by operators despite my initial request not to be put on hold…

I freely admit that every single person in the gallery below annoys me at times for wholly subjective, and very personal, reasons. It could be their mannerisms or even the mere sound of their voice. Logic doesn't always apply here and it's as well to keep that in mind...
