Simon Versus Gordon
![]() |
When it comes to put-downs, Gordon Ramsay and Simon Cowell are virtually in a class of their own. More often than not, the poor sod at the end of the blow is an ordinary member of the public.
After an outpouring of scorn from these two TV personalities, the insult bar is raised somewhat. For the viewer, there's a feeling of relief that we're not the target of said verbal abuse. It can be really personal at times.
Question is though, who's better at the tongue-lashing? Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay tends to shout and pepper his invective with reams of profanity ("It's like cr*p, served up with cr*p, with a side of cr*p!"). Meanwhile, music and TV mogul Simon Cowell has made sarcasm and condescension an art form ("That sounded like a cat in a vacuum"). We've assembled some of their nastier jibes in our gallery. Who wins? You decide.
