TV Quick/TV Choice Awards 2009

The TV Quick & TV Choice Awards honoured the cream of the TV crop in a star-studded ceremony at London's Dorchester hotel. Popular duo Ant and Dec were the big winners on the night. The Geordie pair were presented with the first ever Outstanding Contribution Award to mark their hugely successful 20-year career in television. They also triumphed in the Best Entertainment Show category with ITV1 hit Saturday Night Takeaway. In terms of soapland, EastEnders took home the biggest haul of awards; the BBC drama held onto its Best Soap crown, as well as winning Best Soap Storyline for the tragic Danielle and Ronnie story. Actress Lauren Crace also picked up the gong for Best Soap Newcomer for her dramatic portrayal of Ronnie's long-lost daughter Danielle.
