What Do I Need To Do?

Whether it's rock, pop, or acid skiffle you're into, MSN Unsigned is the place for new artists to get themselves noticed. All you've got to do is upload a video of your band and you'll find yourself in front of an audience of more than eight million visitors a month.

Simply follow the video upload instructions below and tell your friends and fans you're on MSN Unsigned. Get them voting and spread the word!

We'll be running regular articles offering hints and tips for aspiring musicians but we also want the benefit of your experiences. What advice can you offer? Where are the best and worst places to play? Any horror stories about life on the road? Let us know by posting a message on the MSN Music message boards.

And remember, you can always send in your suggestions for our monthly unsigned podcast where we will be listening and commenting on the best new acts.

   3. Click 'Upload' on the navigation bar. You’ll be taken to the page below.

4. Click 'Browse' and locate the video on your machine, then click 'Open'

5. Enter the 'Title' which is the headline of the video
6. Enter the 'Description' – what the video is
7. Enter the 'Tags' - up to five words separated by commas which are the key search terms. IMPORTANT: one of these tag words must be 'msnunsigned'
8. Click the 'Category' dropdown menu and select 'Music'

9. Leave the permission as 'Public'
10. Check the box next to 'Yes I agree to the Soapbox Terms of Use...'
11. Click 'Upload'
12. Before closing the page wait for the video upload bar (located above 'Browse') to reach 100%. The time it takes will vary depending on the length of the clip and the speed of your connection.

11. The video will now 'Process', which can take up to an hour, so next time you login the video will be waiting for you.
