Lily Allen and Grace Jones have been announced on the line-up for this year's Somerset House Summer Series.

The straight-talking Smile singer and the not so straight-talking 80s diva will headline outdoor gigs at the magnificent London venue in July along with The Ting Tings, Pendulum and Athlete.

Grace Jones will be first to take to the stage on July 9, followed by Lily on July 11, The Ting Tings on July 14, Pendulum on July 15 and Athlete on July 17.

More acts are due to be announced later this month.

In the past seven years the Somerset Summer Series has seen spectacular one-off outdoor performances from top acts including Lambchop, Orbital, Goldfrapp, Calexico, Bloc Party, PJ Harvey, Doves, Sigur Ros, Belle & Sebastian, Justice, Duffy, Adele, Air, Prodigy, Erykah Badu, Robert Plant, Mogwai, Amy Winehouse, Hot Chip, and The Roots.

Tickets go on sale on April 23 and the full 2009 line-up will be announced on April 29.
