Bruce Dickinson admitted he had some concerns about how Iron Maiden would come across in the band's new documentary film Flight 666.

Speaking at the premiere of the movie, which saw the group followed by the cameras during the first leg of their Somewhere Back In Time tour, the frontman said: "We thought, 'Oh God, are they gonna stitch us up?'"

But Bruce was happy with the end result, saying: "But as you'll see, I don't think they did."

The 50-year-old rocker is a qualified airline pilot so he helped fly the customised Boeing 757 - called Ed Force One - around the world in 45 days on the tour.

Flight 666 director Scot McFadyen also attended the premiere and revealed the experience wasn't as wild as people might imagine.

"I think that people may have stereotypes or preconceptions of what a heavy metal band like Iron Maiden will be," he said.

"I told my parents that I was flying around the world with Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson was flying the plane, and they assumed there was going to be Jack Daniels in the cockpit and women. Pints in the pub is about as crazy as it gets with them."
