P Diddy offers free cabs on NYE

Sean 'P Diddy' Combs is doing his bit to help New Yorkers enjoy New Year's Eve responsibly, by giving out free cab rides.

The music mogul and Ciroc premium vodka (the vodka brand he co-owns) have joined forces and teamed up with the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission to offer free trips on December 31 so revellers can get home safely.

"New York is the world's most iconic New Year's Eve city, so let's lead by example and show everyone that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn't just end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely," he told the New York Daily News.

Thousands of 15 dollar debit cards, which can be redeemed for single ride cab journeys, will be handed out on Wednesday night.

P Diddy previously wanted the iconic Waterford Crystal New Year's Eve ball, which traditionally drops in New York's Times Square, to resemble the blue stone of Ciroc vodka. He vowed to give 1 million dollars to charity in exchange.

"Having this iconic blue stone sit atop the New York skyline on New Year's Eve is my way of wishing New York a fruitful New Year," he told AllHipHop.com.
