Roll over Reading, duck out Download, there's a new rock festival in town! Taking place on August 1 and 2, Sonisphere will play host to some of metal's premier talent at the UK's spiritual home of rock, Knebworth.
Just get a load of this line-up: Metallica, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Anthrax, Alice In Chains, Machine Head, and Avenged Sevenfold to name but a few.
The organisers have listened to festival-goers complaints about previous events of this kind. Rather than squeezing as many bands as possible onto multiple stages, Sonisphere will feature only bands of the highest calibre performing on two alternate stages, meaning you won’t have to miss any music.
Commenting on the new festival, Lars Ulrich of Metallica has said, "We're stoked to be touring England and Europe with Sonisphere... summer festivals in Europe are what Metallica do best. We can't wait to see all of our fans over there."
