Introducing Florence Rawlings

Check out future soul star Florence Rawlings…

Despite being only 20 years old, Florence Rawlings has been groomed for stardom since the age of 13 when she auditioned for music mogul Mike Batt.

At the time he was looking for female singers with classic soul voices for his Dramatico label and was particularly impressed by two: Florence and a certain Katie Melua, the latter of whom he signed immediately.

It was decided Rawlings should finish her education and gain some life experience before being thrust into the spotlight, performing whenever possible in her spare time. In her own words, "I’d sing for whoever was willing to listen… at school, in clubs and bars… anywhere I could."
