Angelina Jolie will battle it out with
Johnny Depp to be named the best movie villain at this year's MTV Movie Awards, the tongue-in-cheek gongs of the film world.
And it could be the year of the unlikely hero or heroine, with Superbad, Knocked Up and Hairspray all featuring in the nominations.
Keira Knightley (Best Female Performance), Jamie Bell (Best Fight), and Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix's Daniel Radcliffe and Katie Leung (Best Kiss) will be representing the UK at the star-studded event.
The ceremony, presented annually on MTV, celebrates the latest blockbusters - and also includes spoofs featuring film footage and celebs.
The nominees are decided by a special panel and winners are chosen by the general public through the channel's official website - with categories ranging from Best Villain and Best Fight to Best Kiss and Best Summer Movie So Far.
MTV has awarded at least three fictional characters their version of the lifetime achievement award - Godzilla, Jason Voorhees, and Chewbacca - although they know how to be serious too, with winners including Tom Cruise in 2005 and Jim Carrey and Spike Lee in 2006.
Hosted by Mike Myers, this year's MTV Movie Awards take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on June 1. Coldplay and Pussycat Dolls will perform at the ceremony, while award presenters include Lindsay Lohan, Jack Black, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ben Stiller.

Captain Jack Sparrow was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards as Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was named best movie and its star, Johnny Depp, won for best performance.
Sacha Baron Cohen collected two trophies and jokingly revealed why his character Borat could not be at the ceremony: "He's been feeling the pressures of fame and had to check himself into rehab."
The best fight prize went to Gerard Butler, who battled The Uber Immortal in the epic 300.

This was the year of Jessica Alba - who graced the stage to pick up the sexiest performance gong for her role in Sin City.
She also got the crowd chuckling after poking fun at Mission: Impossible III and then playing a lingerie-wearing estate agent trying to sell land to King Kong.
Pop hunk Justin Timberlake also had the audience roaring with laughter by pinching Jake Gyllenhaal's bum - who was on stage to accept the award for best kiss for his smooch with Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain.

Apparently 2005 was the year that "America went back to high school" according to MTV, because Mean Girls and Napoleon Dynamite won just about everything.
The cast of legendary high school film The Breakfast Club also reunited on stage to accept the Silver Bucket of Excellence Award
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling thrilled the audience when they re-enacted one of their on-screen kisses from The Notebook on stage after winning the best kiss category.
:: 2004
It was the risque antics of the celebrities that stole the show in 2004. Eminem set the pace when he mooned the audience during his performance.
Paris Hilton and Carmen Electra later locked lips as the hotel heiress presented the Baywatch babe with her award for best kiss in Starsky And Hutch. Afterwards she said: "It was very sweet and innocent. There was no tongue."
:: 2003
2003 was the year of the hobbits as Frodo and co picked up four trophies for Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, finishing ahead of blockbusters Spider-Man and 8 Mile.
David and Victoria Beckham were also 'lord of the blings' - they stole some of the limelight as they glided into the ceremony in matching white outfits dripping with diamonds.
Star Wars veteran Yoda gave a taped acceptance speech in his signature jumbled manner after winning best fight scene for Star Wars: Episode II Attack Of The Clones.
"Hmmm ... grateful am I to this award receive. To win, I did not expect," he said. "Promise myself cry I would not."

The Brits did well in 2002 - Moulin Rouge and Lord Of The Rings won four of the 12 accolades.
Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly made her singing debut at the show, watched by her brother Jack who was videotaping her performance from his seat in the audience.
