Britney Spears is "extremely upset" about reports that fans walked out of one of her gigs in Australia, her tour promoter has said.
The pop superstar has been "aware" of the furore surrounding her and her Circus tour following an article about fans walking out of her show - allegedly as early as the third song - at Perth's Burswood Dome last Friday.
But Paul Dainty denied the claims saying to Oz paper The Australian: "It's the biggest lie I've ever heard - we can take heat if there's something wrong and people can review shows badly, that's something you have to live with, but to say people stormed out of the show was an absolute fabrication."
He added: "Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it. She's a human being.
"I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting."
The venue's management issued a statement saying they had received no complaints from the 17,000 people who were at the show. A similar number attended Britney's show at the same venue last Saturday.
However fans have complained on message boards she gave Perth fans a generic welcome, never mentioning their city by name.
Britney said: "What's up Australia? How you feeling tonight? It's so good to be here tonight. Your country is beautiful."
Meanwhile John Mayer has backed the singer, saying on his Twitter account: "If you're shocked that Britney was lip-synching at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."

So, it’s about an old man flying away on an adventure by attaching a huge bunch of helium balloons to his house. Even for the talented craftspeople at Pixar, who successfully brought us a near-silent film about robots last year, this seems far-fetched. We needn’t have worried though. Up is the best Pixar film since Toy Story.
