Anna Faris, Dan Akroyd and Justin Timberlake are set to star in a film version of Yogi Bear.

The part live action, part animated big-screen adaptation is due to begin filming in New Zealand next month, with Akroyd set to provide the voice for Yogi Bear and the SexyBack singer for his sidekick Boo Boo.

According to Variety.com, the pair would join Scary Movie actress Anna, who plays a documentary filmmaker who becomes entangled with the blundering bears through their penchant for stealing picnic baskets in Jellystone Park.

Yogi Bear was a hit cartoon for Hanna-Barbera in the 1960s. Yogi first appeared as a guest on the Huckleberry Hound Show in 1959 and was based on Art Carney's Ed Norton character in American sitcom the Honeymooners.

It won't be Yogi's first foray on the big screen, in 1964 his musical Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! was a commercial success for Hanna-Barbera.

Up: MSN Review

So, it’s about an old man flying away on an adventure by attaching a huge bunch of helium balloons to his house. Even for the talented craftspeople at Pixar, who successfully brought us a near-silent film about robots last year, this seems far-fetched. We needn’t have worried though. Up is the best Pixar film since Toy Story.
