Kate Hudson has revealed her weight has plummeted to seven-and-a-half stone for a new film role - and she reckons quitting wine was the key.
Hudson, 30, shifted 20lbs for her latest flick in which she plays a terminally ill patient who falls in love with her doctor and giving up her favourite tipple was the only way to go.
In an exclusive interview with Elle magazine, she said: "I love my glass of wine. I love tequila. To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage! I'm not sure I've ever done that."
She admitted: "I'm not, like, 110lbs. But I'm probably heading towards that."
The Almost Famous actress said she does not care what bloggers make of her new look and compared them to "juvenile" school girls.
"It's like having a girl talk badly about you in high school. It's so juvenile and base. Not liking an outfit, OK, I get that. OK, let's all laugh at somebody's outfit."
The actress, who says she was once criticised on the blogosphere for her Oscars dress, added: "It's not a negative world; it's quite positive. And for people to want to switch it and make it negative, because it makes them feel better, that's really bizarre."
:: The full interview appears in the December issue of Elle Magazine, on sale on Wednesday.

MOVIES

So, it’s about an old man flying away on an adventure by attaching a huge bunch of helium balloons to his house. Even for the talented craftspeople at Pixar, who successfully brought us a near-silent film about robots last year, this seems far-fetched. We needn’t have worried though. Up is the best Pixar film since Toy Story.
