Noel Gallagher has apparently revealed he's spending his time off catching up on Coronation Street.

The former Oasis star told the Daily Star he's not working on a solo album at the moment - and is instead watching his favourite soap.

He said: "I'm not doing a solo album as I'm taking time off - I'm enjoying bumming around watching Coronation Street."

He continued: "I much prefer it to EastEnders. That show is too depressing for me."

Noel, who is known to be a big fan of the Manchester-based show, reportedly also claimed that he's been asked to appear in Corrie "loads" but has always turned it down.

A spokeswoman for the soap said: "We know he's a huge fan of the show, and I'm sure it would be interesting at some point to see him on the Street but no official approach has been made."

Up: MSN Review

So, it’s about an old man flying away on an adventure by attaching a huge bunch of helium balloons to his house. Even for the talented craftspeople at Pixar, who successfully brought us a near-silent film about robots last year, this seems far-fetched. We needn’t have worried though. Up is the best Pixar film since Toy Story.

Wimbledon Aces

With Wimbledon 2009 in full swing, err… serve, the top tennis players from around the world are focused entirely on their game. As they run up and down the court screaming with exertion, the rest of us non-pros can't help but judge them on something other than their passing shots; that's right, how good looking they are.
