Amy Winehouse has been close to death twice but is now heading in the right direction, her dad has apparently said.
The singer's father Mitch was quoted in Hello! magazine as saying his famous daughter is on the road to recovery.
A TV documentary called Saving Amy, which TV journalist Daphne Barak has been recording with the family, is due to be broadcast later this year. It reveals how the singer's problems have affected the entire family, the mag reported.
"Stories about my troubled daughter are selling newspapers and magazines," Amy's father said.
"They don't want her to get better. But she is better. They didn't see her lying in bed for days in a dark room.
"She was close to death twice. We have been working a lot to get her to where she is right now."
Amy has recently been enjoying a break in St Lucia where she has been snapped looking happier and healthier than in recent months.
Her dad was quoted as telling Barak: "She loves it here and doesn't want to go back to England."

MOVIES

So, it’s about an old man flying away on an adventure by attaching a huge bunch of helium balloons to his house. Even for the talented craftspeople at Pixar, who successfully brought us a near-silent film about robots last year, this seems far-fetched. We needn’t have worried though. Up is the best Pixar film since Toy Story.
