Pride of Britain Awards 2009

The 11th annual Pride of Britain Awards were held in London on October 5. Although many of the biggest celebrities of the moment attended the ceremony, the event wasn't really about who was on the red carpet - it was about the courageous everyday people who have done amazing things, whether that's raising money for charities, saving the life of a stranger or supporting people through tough times, in unimaginable circumstances.

The Awards, hosted by Carol Vorderman, always gain a lot of attention from the stars, who fully respect the wonderful things our nation's heroes have done. They turn up to show their admiration for the soldiers, children, men, women and groups who have achieved the inconceivable for the good of our nation.
